Below are some resources pertaining to Bioethics and prayers for this season.

For more information pertaining to massess and the church, please refer to the website of The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Singapore.

Bioethics

1. Q&A on the Morality of the COVID-19 Vaccine

Many of us may have heard that the new COVID-19 vaccines were created using aborted fetal cells, and have been wondering if it were in keeping with the church’s teachings to receive this vaccine. On 3/2, our Archbishop, His Grace William Goh had written a pastoral letter to reassure the laity on the mortality of the use of the COVID-19 vaccines. (click here to view the Pastoral letter)

The CMG have written a short FAQ answering some aspects to the Morality of the COVID-19 vaccines. Click here to view the FAQs. If there are any further queries, please feel free to contact us at cmgsingapore@yahoo.com.sg.

Prayers for this Season

Prayer for Health Care Workers

Almighty God, whose beloved Son Jesus Christ, went about doing good, and healing all manner of illness and disease:
Continue, we beseech you, his gracious work among us especially in… (Insert Name of Your Facility or Department).
Grant to us physicians, nurses and all health care professionals wisdom and skill, sympathy and patience; keep us safe and preserve us from all contagion. Cheer, heal and sanctify the sick, and send down on all who care for them your blessing, our healer, Jesus Christ, Our Lord.

Amen.

Prayer During the COVID 19 Crisis

Heavenly Father, we thank you for the gift of good health and peace that we have enjoyed for so many years. As we find ourselves in this time of crisis today, we ask for your divine intervention and mercy to be upon each of us.

Come and guide the minds of those working to discover a treatment to the COVID 19 virus. Grant them wisdom, knowledge, and clarity of mind, so that all peoples will be free from the threat of this ailment.

We also pray for the healthcare workers that are standing in the front line of this battle. Father, we thank you for their hearts of service, putting the needs of society before their own, generously responding to the cry of Your people. We ask that You will grant them strength and protection. As they give of themselves in selfless service, may You fill them with your Holy Spirit as they work to be Your healing hands and feet.

Father, we also surrender to You all those who have been afflicted with the virus. Grant them Your healing grace, merciful Father, so that they may recover swiftly and continue to be witnesses of Your love in their lives.

Mother Mary, we ask for your intercession in this great time of need. Cover each of us with your blue mantle of protection, so that we may be preserved in good health to continue to glorify your son, Jesus Christ! We make this prayer through Christ, our Saviour and Redeemer.

Amen

Prayer to Our Lady of Mental Peace

Mother of Tranquility and Mother of Hope, look upon me in this time of my weakness and unrest.
Teach my searching heart to know that God’s Love for me is unchanging and unchangeable; and, that true human love can only begin and grow by touching His Love.
Let your gentle Peace which this world cannot give be always with me. And help me to bring this same Peace into the lives of others

Our Lady of Mental Peace, Pray for me
